Each week, one of our Elders will share an idea that you can do for that week. The ideas will be a way to practice “loving one another” in different ways each week. Below is the list of ideas for each week.

WEEK 1: Send a note of encouragement to someone.

WEEK 2: Write a “Gratitude” list of what you are thankful for. Place it in a prominent spot to remind you of God’s love for you.

WEEK 3: Love one another extravagantly! Drop some flowers off at a nursing home for someone who needs a lift to their day.

WEEK 4: Phone someone you haven’t talked to in a long time and make the call all about them. Remember to pray for them.

WEEK 5: Write a note of encouragement to one of our Teen Challenge guests from Oct. 10th. Names and address are available at the church office.

WEEK 6: Encourage your pastoral staff, office manager, and The Quest staff this week.

WEEK 7: Smile at a stranger or say ‘hello’ and remember to pray for them.

WEEK 8: Bake some cookies for our policemen, firemen, or paramedics to let them know how much you appeciate them. You can also pray for them this week.

WEEK 9: Give something special to a neighbour without them knowing it was you. You could also pray for them.

WEEK 10: Send a note of encouragement to someone. You could also pray for them.

WEEK 11: Offer a ride to someone in need. You can also pray for them.

WEEK 12: Please bring some mitts, a toque or a scarf to hang on our tree in the foyer. These will be distributed to the Children’s Haven.

WEEK 13: We encourage you to continue to bring some mitts, toques, scarves, or slippers for a child and place them onour tree at First Baptist Church. They will be distributed to Children’s Haven.

WEEK 14: Phone a friend or relative and find out how they are doing.

WEEK 15: Show or tell those nearest and dearest to you how much you love them.

WEEK 16: Write a note of encouragement to someone younger than you or a youth.

WEEK 17: Buy or bake cookies and give them to a school with a note expressing how much you appreciate the job they do with the children.

WEEK 18: Collect pop can tabs and gently used toys to drop off at First. These will be donated to Ronald McDonald House.

WEEK 19: ‘Stir one another up’ by finding some ways to encourage each other.

WEEK 20: Each day find a way to do a random act of kindness.

WEEK 21: Email or write a note of encouragement to the missionaries First Baptist Church supports. For a list of addresses, contact the church office.

WEEK 22: Bake/buy cookies to drop off at the Sunshine Haven (23 26th St. East) or Our House (94 15th St. East).

WEEK 23: Send a note of encouragement to our College/University students. Names & addresses are available at the church office.

WEEK 24: Give someone a compliment each day this week.

WEEK 25: Take someone out for coffee that you have never taken out before.

WEEK 26: Practice loving others and pray for them when you are driving by: letting them in when you are in a long line, they cut you off or jay-walk in front of you.

WEEK 27: Write a note of encouragement to our friends from Riverbend, Darrold, Walter, Dan and Richard. These notes can be brought to the church for distribution.

WEEK 28: Send a rose or some spring flowers to someone who has been stuck inside for a great part of the winter to brighten their day.

WEEK 29: Do something for someone that you know is feeling weak or weary: Babysit for busy parents; buy groceries for someone who is ill; help a student with a school project; help a friend with a project or whatever you think a weary person needs! God promises to be our strength in our weakness. So this week, give a cheerful helping hand to someone in need.

WEEK 30: Shovel snow or rake the dead leaves or snow mold off of someone’s lawn to show the love of Christ.

WEEK 31: This week be careful what you say to those around you; use your words to be positive.

WEEK 32: Encourage one or more of our seniors at First Baptist Church with a note, flowers, cookies, etc.

WEEK 33: Take 5 minutes each day to be still and listen to God. (Psalm 46:10)

WEEK 34: Write a note to the Seghers family or to each member of their family to express your encouragement and best wishes. Your note can be placed in marked basket on Sunday.

WEEK 35: Be quick to forgive. (Matthew 18:21-35)

WEEK 36: Our Love One Another Project this week is to praise God for the beauty of His earth by picking up litter as we are enjoying God’s creation and loving others and praying for others as we enjoy the outdoors.

WEEK 37: Be the hands and feet of Jesus and send a note of encouragement to someone specific.

WEEK 38: Make or buy some baking to take to our Police department along with a note to tell them how much you appreciate them or that you are praying for them.

WEEK 39: When you encounter someone this week and ask them how they are, make sure to make eye contact with them and really listen to them.

WEEK 40: Drop off a baby gift at the hospital to be given to someone who could use it.

WEEK 41: Love your enemies; do something nice for someone who tends to rub you the wrong way; take that person out for coffee; pray for that person.

WEEK 42: Pick someone from the congregation and PRAY for them.

WEEK 43: Pray for The Quest at Christopher Lake and for those involved in ministry there.

WEEK 44: Turn a negative in our week, into a positive, by being grateful for what we have and not taking what we have for granted.

WEEK 45: Love outrageously and let the love of Christ leak out of you like a clay pot with holes!

WEEK 46: Focus on seniors by calling them, writing a note, or doing something special for them.

WEEK 47: Find ways to show your spouse how much you love them this week. If you are not married, find ways to show a friend or relative how much you love them.

WEEK 48: Show your appreciation for the workers of the city by sending a note of thanks to the mayor or sanitation department for the great work they do.

WEEK 49: Display God’s love in all circumstances.

WEEK 50: Pray for our teachers as the school season starts.

WEEK 51: Purchase Sunday School supplies for our Karen Congregation.

WEEK 52: This week, our last week, in our year long project, we recognized the importance of “doing our little part, every day” to make a difference in the world – a smile, an encouraging word, praying, lending a helping hand, random acts of kindness. In honor of those who lost their lives, or lost family members, in the tragedy of 9-11, we watched a brief video which highlighted the importance of “Faith, Hope and Love”.
